2023-2024 Season
Southern Region Senior Championships
The regional championships were held at very short notice and in a new venue during a bank holiday weekend. Attendance was understandably down on previous seasons. Salisbury sent two representatives who acquitted the club well.

British Youth Championships
Congratulations to Villő Gemesi, firstly on qualifying for the BYC this year and then for coming 11th overall in the under 18 Women's Sabre.
Rob Bruniges Cup
We were again invited to field teams for the second running of the Rob Bruniges Cup by Bath Swords during the Easter holidays. Unfortunately due to the scheduling only one team could be assembled. Despite many close finishes this team ended up in 11th place.

2022-2023 Season
Rob Bruniges Cup
On Saturday the 8th of July, Bath Swords held an invitational competition to honour the memory of Rob Bruniges and also to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Bath Sword Club.
This competition was for mixed teams of 3, each member specialising in one weapon. Fights between teams were therefore relays to a total of 15 with the order of weapons being decided by die rolls. This made for some closely-contested fights and ensured that no team could progress by relying solely upon one member. The format worked well and lots of fencing was enjoyed throughout the day.

Southern Region Senior Foil Championships
The regional championships are back and the club's sole representative this year contested the foil competition. It is hoped to send more fencers for next year's event. More advance notice from Southern Region wouldn't go amiss.

Southern Region Senior and Novice Foil 2018
Although this is the second such event of the calendar year, it has been moved earlier in the season for scheduling reasons. So, the Senior and Novice foil competition for 2018-19 was held on the 21st of October. Congratulations to Carl on becoming the Regional Foil Novice Champion, winning the final match 15-14.

The Senior and Novice foil competition was held on the 6th of May. Unfortunately our promising novices were too young to meet the entry criteria this year but next season should see a good turn-out from the club.

GB Cup Qualifier 2018
The regional qualifier for the new GB Cup competition was held in Newbury on the 11th of February. Low entry numbers resulted in the Women's Foil being cancelled leaving us with just one competitor.

This is a promising competition for fencers just below elite level and with better promotion it might be expected to flourish in future seasons.

The regional epee and sabre competitions were held on the same day. Our sole representative competed in both competitions and was awarded Master at Arms for the second successive season.

The regional senior foil competition at Downlands was not particularly well atended this year. All fencers entered a single poule which included those who had entered the novices competition. Everyone progressed to a DE which was fought to 10 for reasons of limited time at the venue. The result for our solitary representative was:
